The International Shariah Research Academy (ISRA) and the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), in collaboration with the University of Jordan are organizing the 12th INTERNATIONAL SHARIAH SCHOLARS FORUM (ISSF 2017) under the theme “Personal Financing Products and Liquidity Management Instruments in the Islamic Finance Industry: Strengthening Shariah Compliancy and Economic Efficiency”. The Forum, which is also supported by INCEIF (The Global Islamic Finance University, Kuala Lumpur), will be held at Sama Sama Hotel in KLIA from 1st to 2nd November 2017.

Realizing the importance of assessing personal financing products and liquidity management instruments as offered and operated by Islamic financial institutions, the Forum aims to strengthen the Shariah compliance and economic efficiency of such products and instruments in an industry that has surpassed 2 trillion USD in assets and has grown at an average growth rate of 18% per annum, robustly higher than its conventional counterpart.

This yearly global event has attracted renowned local and international Shariah scholars, industry players and Muslim economists, who established their authority well in Islamic finance. Leveraging on the expertise of Shariah scholars and practitioners, the two days Forum is expected to fuse both perspectives to assess the Shariah compliance and economic efficiency of personal financing products and liquidity management instruments.

To encourage innovation among the fraternity of Islamic finance, the second day of the Forum will be dedicated to papers selected from a pool of good contributions received in response to the ‘Call for Papers’. The presenters of the selected papers, who are mainly academicians, practitioners, young scholars and promising researchers coming from all over the world will have the chance to present their innovative products and solutions for both personal financing and liquidity management instruments in Islamic finance.

During the Forum, The Islamic Commercial Law Report 2018, jointly prepared by ISRA and Thomson Reuters on key issues in Islamic Social finance, will be launched.

The Media is cordially invited to cover the event.
